Cathy J. Cohen is David and Mary Winton Green Professor of Political Science and Deputy Provost for Graduate Education at the University of Chicago. She is the author of the groundbreaking study The Boundaries of Blackness: AIDS and the Breakdown of Black Politics (1999), the co-editor of Women Transforming Politics: An Alternative Reader (1997), and the author of articles in American Political Science Review, GLQ: A Journal of Lesbian and Gay Studies, NOMOS, and Social Text.

Prof. Cohen of the University of Chicago discusses the racial politics of prop 8 and marriage equality, as well as the radical potential of intersectional politics.
