The Center for Race & Gender celebrated the start of the new academic year by welcoming members of the UC Berkeley community to our annual Open House event. Students, faculty, CRG staff and community partners enjoyed delicious refreshments, and discussed the exciting CRG programs and upcoming events.
- Working groups and research projects on Islamophobia, the criminal justice system, restorative justice in schools, & a Race & Gender Writing Group for grads and postdocs
- CRG grants for up to $2000 for undergraduate & graduate student research on race & gender
- Exciting events including a symposium on the cultural politics of Michael Jackson, a distinguished lecture by Ruthie Gilmore about the race and gender politics of the current economic crisis, and the CRG Thursday Forums featuring work by faculty & students
