The Center for Race & Gender welcomes donations to sustain student research and creative projects for racial and gender justice!
In 2011, the Center for Race & Gender recently celebrated its ten-year anniversary last year with a successful conference and a celebration of the Center’s many exciting accomplishments.
This year, CRG has taken on a new challenge: to establish an endowment for graduate student research grants. Our goal is to raise $10,000. Establishing this endowment will also make more resources available for undergraduate student research grants.
So far, we’ve awarded over 200 grants to graduate and undergraduate students pursuing research projects on race, gender, and social justice. As the tightening budget erodes resources for students, CRG is even more committed to supporting student research and want to ensure that this research grant funding is strengthened and sustained.
We welcome donations from everyone of any size! However, donations from UC Berkeley faculty, students, or staff will be matched by the University.
We’ve been told by students again and again how incredibly important this research grant is, certainly in terms of helping to cover research expenses, but also in affirming their work in race and gender research and analysis. We thank you for your support!
Or send a check made payable to the UC Berkeley Foundation. Please write "CRG Grad Student Research Fund" in the "for line." and send to:
