NOW ATTEND THE CRG THURSDAY FORUM SERIES FOR CREDIT!

Juniors & Seniors can now attend the CRG Thursday Forum Series for credit.  The series is organized by the Center for Race & Gender (CRG) and features a forum every other Thursday, 4:00 pm - 5:30 pm, addressing issues related to race and gender.  Learn more about the forums here.

TO EARN CREDIT, STUDENTS MUST:

  • Attend all 7 forums, with a maximum of 2 absences.
  • Attend all 7 forum debriefs (on the Thursday w/o a scheduled forum), with a maximum of 2 absences.
  • Comment on CRG blog after forum with two questions to pursue in forum debrief.
  • 25 additional hours of CRG internship for 1 unit, 65 hours for 2 units. Possible activities:
    • provide administrative assistance to CRG
    • contribute to Faultlines newsletter
    • work closely with CRG working group or a CRG community partner
  • Final paper, 5-7 pages, reflecting on course

HOW TO SIGN UP:

  • Enroll in Ethnic Studies 197
  • Obtain authorization from the Ethnic Studies Major Faculty Coordinator, Nelson Maldonado-Torres, nmt@berkeley.edu
  • Identify faculty advisor from Ethnic Studies, African American Studies, or Gender & Women Studies Departments
